The short version

TEX52 is a science-education website. You can read its pages without creating an account or providing your name, email address or other personal details. TEX52 does not save information you enter into forms because the site has no such forms.

What we collect

TEX52 does not collect personal information from readers through the site itself. The share buttons on each explainer add a simple source label (such as WhatsApp or LinkedIn) to the link being shared. These buttons and labels are counted in an anonymous, aggregate way, as described under “Share counts” below.

A sharing service is contacted only when you choose to use it. That service may process information under its own privacy policy.

If you choose to email hello [at] tex52 [dot] com, we receive your email address and whatever you write in the message. We use it to read and reply to you. Please do not include sensitive personal information in an email.

Share counts

When you click a share button (WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn, email or copy link), or open a page through a link that was shared that way, TEX52 records one anonymous count: which button or source, which page, and the date. We do not store your IP address, a cookie, device details or any other identifier with these counts, and we cannot tell who shared a page or who received it. The counts are kept in Cloudflare’s storage for up to about 13 months and are viewed only by us, as totals. They help us understand which explainers are shared and how visitors find them. We do not use them to build personal profiles or target advertising.

TEX52 does not currently use a third-party analytics service. If that changes, this page will be updated.

Technical data

TEX52 is hosted and delivered using Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare’s network. To deliver pages and operate, maintain and protect its services, Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, referring URL, browser or device information, and network or traffic metadata.

Cloudflare uses information of this kind for traffic routing and delivery, service performance and availability, troubleshooting, and detecting, preventing or mitigating abuse and security threats. The exact data processed and its retention can depend on the services and configuration in use. This operational processing is carried out by Cloudflare as our provider; it is separate from the share counts described above. We do not independently collect or maintain Cloudflare’s underlying operational logs. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for further details.

Cookies and advertising

TEX52 does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not run advertising or third-party tracking scripts. Cloudflare or a sharing service may use technologies of its own when you interact with its services; those services have their own policies.

Children

TEX52 aims to make science accessible, including to younger readers. The site does not ask readers to submit personal information. Please do not send personal or sensitive information through any communication channel.
